A Turkish tourist visa authorises short-term travel for leisure, visiting family or friends, or similar non-commercial purposes — it does not authorise employment, enrolment in a school, or ongoing business activity, each of which follows its own visa category. Check whether e-Visa applies to your nationality

Turkey's e-Visa system (evisa.gov.tr) allows citizens of many countries to apply online for a short tourist stay, typically receiving an electronic visa within minutes to a couple of days; citizens of other countries must apply for a sticker visa at a Turkish consulate or an authorised visa application centre, and some nationalities do not need a visa at all for short tourist stays. Which category applies to you, how many days you may stay, and whether entry is single or multiple depend entirely on your nationality and the bilateral visa policy in force at the time of travel — this is set by Turkish authorities, not FTurkey.

Prepare the standard tourist visa file

A typical application requires a passport valid well beyond the intended stay, a recent photograph, evidence of accommodation such as a hotel booking or an invitation from a host, a return or onward ticket, and in some cases proof of sufficient funds for the trip. Consulates and the e-Visa system may request additional documents depending on nationality, travel history or the length of stay requested. Keep the visit within tourist-visa limits

A tourist visa does not permit you to take up paid work, enrol as a student, or establish an ongoing business presence in Turkey; those activities require their own visa category and, in most cases, a different application altogether. If your visit might extend beyond tourism — for example into business meetings, a course of study, or a longer stay that would require a residence permit — that should be planned and disclosed as its own matter rather than assumed to be covered by a tourist visa.
