Oncology and Cancer Treatment
Oncology and cancer treatments. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgical oncology.
Coordination for oncology care in Turkey, not a medical provider
FTurkey is a health-tourism consulting and coordination company, not a hospital, clinic or medical provider. FTurkey does not practise medicine, does not diagnose cancer and does not decide on a treatment plan. Within an agreed written scope, FTurkey helps international patients considering a second opinion or treatment coordination at an oncology centre in Turkey share their existing medical records, understand the practical steps involved, and coordinate the logistics around an evaluation. A cancer diagnosis and every decision about how to treat it are made exclusively by the licensed treating oncology team and hospital in Turkey, regulated by the Ministry of Health (Sağlık Bakanlığı), based on your actual pathology, imaging and clinical examination.
Why oncology decisions are multidisciplinary, and what FTurkey can help you reach
Cancer treatment decisions are complex, and Turkish oncology centres typically review a patient's pathology, imaging and staging through a multidisciplinary tumour board (multidisipliner konsey) bringing together medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology and other relevant specialists before recommending a plan. Depending on the case, that plan may involve chemotherapy or other systemic therapy, radiotherapy, surgery, or a combination — these are examples of the modalities Turkish oncology centres work with, not a suggestion of what is appropriate for you. Only the treating multidisciplinary team, after reviewing your complete file, determines whether treatment is possible, which modality applies, and what the realistic considerations are for your specific case; FTurkey does not offer a view on prognosis, likely outcome, or treatment suitability at any stage.
Sharing your pathology and imaging for a second opinion
The usual first step is to organise your existing oncology records — pathology and biopsy reports, imaging such as CT, MRI or PET scans, staging information, and your current oncologist's summary — and share them, with your consent, with an oncology centre FTurkey helps identify. A centre's preliminary opinion based on a records review is not a diagnosis and may confirm, refine, or differ from your existing diagnosis or plan once the treating team examines you in person or by teleconsultation and reviews any further tests it requests. No treatment, procedure or admission date can be confirmed before that multidisciplinary review is complete.
Choosing an oncology centre authorised for international patients
Hospitals and oncology centres that treat international patients in Turkey are expected to hold the Ministry of Health's International Patient Health Tourism Authorization Certificate, alongside accreditation relevant to oncology services. FTurkey checks for this authorisation when helping identify a centre, alongside practical factors such as language support, location and whether the centre's tumour board has experience relevant to your type of case. The final choice of centre and treating team remains yours.
Coordination during your visit and ongoing care
Once a centre accepts your file for evaluation, within the agreed scope FTurkey can help schedule appointments, arrange interpretation during medical consultations — including discussions of a sensitive nature — and coordinate travel and accommodation logistics around your visit, as well as onward communication of test results between your home oncologist and the Turkish team if treatment continues across more than one visit. FTurkey does not attend consultations as a medical representative, does not communicate clinical instructions on the centre's behalf, and does not manage your medical records independently of the centre's own systems.
What this coordination does not include
FTurkey does not diagnose cancer, does not recommend a specific oncologist, hospital or treatment modality, does not offer any view on prognosis, cure likelihood, success rate or survival outlook, and does not estimate a treatment timeline or price. FTurkey does not guarantee that a centre will accept a case or that any particular treatment will be offered; these determinations belong entirely to the treating multidisciplinary oncology team.
Understand the process and request a proposal
The coordination involved depends on the type of cancer, the stage of your existing workup, and the records already available. Request a quote describing your situation and the records you can share, and FTurkey can propose a written scope covering the coordination support available for your case.
