Insurance Consulting
Life insurance, health insurance, home insurance, and other types of insurance consulting.
Understanding Turkish insurance, coordinated through licensed brokers
Insurance in Turkey — life, health, home, vehicle and other lines — is sold and underwritten by licensed insurance companies and intermediated by licensed agencies (sigorta acenteleri) and brokers, all supervised by the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK). FTurkey is a consulting and coordination company, not a licensed insurance broker or underwriter, and does not sell policies, collect premiums, or assess or settle claims. Within an agreed written scope, FTurkey can help you understand which types of cover are relevant to your situation and coordinate an introduction to a licensed broker or agency suited to your needs.
Mandatory and commonly held cover in Turkey
Certain types of insurance are mandatory in Turkey: compulsory earthquake insurance (DASK, Doğal Afet Sigortaları Kurumu) is legally required for most registered residential properties and is a precondition for many property transactions and utility connections, and compulsory traffic insurance (trafik sigortası) is required to register and drive a vehicle, separate from optional comprehensive vehicle cover (kasko). Health insurance, life insurance and private home-contents cover are common but not mandatory. FTurkey can help you understand which of these apply to your situation — for example, as a property owner, tenant, vehicle owner or new resident — before you approach a broker.
Matching a policy type to your situation
Coverage needs differ significantly between a short-term visitor, a long-term resident, a property owner and a business. FTurkey can help you compare, in general terms, what health insurance, life insurance, home insurance or business insurance products typically cover, what common exclusions look like, and what documentation an insurer or broker usually requests, so you can have an informed conversation with a licensed provider. FTurkey does not compare specific policy quotes on your behalf or select a policy for you; the choice of insurer, coverage level and premium is made between you and the licensed broker or company.
Coordinating the introduction and claims process
Where useful, FTurkey can help translate policy documents for your own understanding, coordinate an introduction to a licensed broker or agency, and help organise the paperwork a claim typically requires. The assessment, approval and payment of any claim is made entirely by the insurer under its own policy terms and Turkish insurance regulation; FTurkey has no authority to approve, expedite or guarantee the outcome of a claim.
What this service does not include
FTurkey does not act as your insurance agent or broker of record, does not receive commission tied to a specific policy sale as part of this consulting scope, and does not provide legal advice on a disputed claim; a contested claim or denial is a matter for the insurer's own complaints process, SEDDK, or independent legal counsel. Underwriting decisions, premium calculation and policy wording are set solely by the insurance company.
Understand the cost and request a proposal
The support needed depends on the type of cover you are exploring, whether it concerns an individual, a family or a business, and whether you already hold policies that need review. Request a quote describing your situation and the type of insurance you are considering, and FTurkey can propose a written scope covering the explanation and coordination support available for your case.
